LAMS General Information - 1st Day of School is August 24

Hello parents, guardians and students.  With the new school year just around the corner, we are committed to keeping you fully informed to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for your family.  One way to keep you informed is with the monthly Parent Newsletter, which is emailed out each month but also can be found by clicking on the Parent Newsletter tab on the Middle School Website.  These newsletters are filled with important information so we highly encourage everyone to reference back to them as often as needed.

This month's Welcome Back to School Newsletter contains information on the following:

  • Student Orientation and Meet the Teacher Night
  • Attendance
  • Drop-off and pick-up procedures for parents who take their child to and from school
  • Our new schedule for the 2026-2027 school year
  • Health and Safety updates from the nurse

Other pieces of information parents should know:

  1. Student leaving early for an appointment -- Please send a note including time of pickup and students first & last name.  Your student can place this in their Homeroom teachers envelope as this envelope will be collected each morning & brought to the office. (If your student arrives after homeroom or just simply forgot, they can bring it to the main office as soon as they arrive.) When picking up a student early, please make sure you bring your identification along (example: drivers license). This is necessary in order for the office to release the student to you.
  2. Please make sure all information in PowerSchool is correct. -- This includes address, phone numbers, email, emergency contacts and health information. 
  3. Busing - If you have any questions regarding bus transportation, please reach out to the Middle School office at (610) 377-6535, or George's Transportation at (610) 377-5511.

Our first day of school for students is Monday, August 24th.  School day is from 7:28-2:26pm.  All students need to be in their homeroom by 7:28am to avoid being tardy.

**On the first day of school, staff will explain your student's schedule and answer any questions students may have.  Please have your student bring the schedule they received at Meet the Teacher Night along with them.

**On the first day of school, students will be receiving their Chromebook.  Please know there will be electronic Device Liability forms and Insurance opt-in/out forms to be completed.  Once this electronic information is received the district will forward this to all parents/guardians.

REMINDER:  LASD WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY ON SEPTEMBER 4 & 7.

FALL SPORTS PHYSICAL REGISTRATION

Per Mr. Spotts, the LASD Athletic Director, the Fall Sports physicals window has officially opened to upload students Fall Sports Physicals. 

Please know in the past the district had used BigTeams, however effective immediately the district is now using Arbiter Sports.  All physicals must be uploaded online when completed.  We no longer accept paper copies.  Any student planning on playing a Fall sport must have a physical dated May 1, 2026 or later.

Please be advised that not all requests for schedule changes will be honored due to the complex nature of the scheduling procedure.  Certain grade level courses are required curriculum and may not be exempt from a student schedule.  We appreciate your consideration in providing an excellent academic learning environment for all students.
