MR. STEPHEN EBBERT, PRINCIPAL
Hello, my name is Stephen Ebbert and I am excited for another school year as the Principal. I believe in recognizing the positive things that our students do on a daily basis. My teaching career began in the Lehighton School District as a third grade teacher at Shull David during the 1994-95 school year. After 10 years of teaching third grade I then moved to the Middle School as a fifth grade Social Studies teacher and later became the Assistant Principal. After the birth of my two youngest children I decided to return to the classroom to spend more time at home. Since that time, I have taught 6th grade Geography and also filled in as the High School Assistant Principal. Before my appointment as the Middle School Principal, I served as the Dean of Students for 4 years.
I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and attended Lehigh Carbon Community College, after completing my enlistment, earning an Associates Arts Degree. I then attended Kutztown University and earned a BS in Education. After several years of teaching, I then attended Wilkes University earning a MS in Education and completed my K-12 Educational Leadership Certificaton.
Lehighton is my home town and, with the exception of my time in the Air Force, I have always resided in the Lehighton School District. I am the proud father of four wonderful children who keep me young at heart. Firefighting is an important part of my life and I have over 35 years of service with the Lehighton Fire Department. My favorite sports teams include the Indianapolis Colts and the Flyers!
It is always exciting to start a new school year with a great staff and fantastic students here at the Middle School!
MRS. TIFFANY STRAUSBERGER, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Greetings parents and community,
It is my pleasure to be joining the Lehighton Area Middle School family as your assistant principal! This is my 17th year educating the youth of our district and am very excited to take on this new role. I have had some amazing experiences in various roles including a third and fourth grade classroom teacher, elementary science department chair, team leader, Assistant Supervisor of Special Services, Alternative Education, and District Assessment Coordinator. I am extremely thankful for all the experience and knowledge I have gained to help serve our students and staff. My educational background includes a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from West Chester University, a Masters degree in Reading and Reading Specialist certification from Bloomsburg University and Educational Leadership/Principal Certification from CLIU21.
My husband Jesse and I are Lehighton citizens and graduates. We are proud parents to two boys, Coe and Knox. Coe is entering high school, while Knox is beginning his last year at the elementary center. We are also loving and very patient owners of our two german shorthaired pointers, Mossberg and Henry. In my free time I enjoy camping, reading and spending days on the lake with my family.
I believe in ensuring a safe and caring environment that is conducive to learning. It is our duty as educators to support our youth to become respectful citizens that can successfully work and interact in a diverse society. It is crucial to help them to develop the skills necessary to function in the future of their choice. Every lesson, conversation, decision needs to be made with the basis that we do what is best for children. Every student has the potential to be great and I am honored to be a part in that individualized process. I am looking forward to working together to positively and successfully support your child on their educational journey.
